Situation du Scluz

... Scluz ramp lies in the Southwest part of the bay . Its main part , built of rock and asphalt , is under water at high waters. The width of the entrance is 3.8 m. A rather tough surf may develop at high-water , by North and North-East winds .

... The ramp is close to Scluz manor , one of the oldest building in Brignogan , it was built in the early 17th century for Jean du Bois , the local landlord ,who lived there in 1617 , his grand-daughter Claude brought it in the family du Poulpry who owned it till the 1st french revolution. Ruined then , it was rebuilt in 1894 by Armand Treanton , a merchant from Landivisiau. Years later , during the second World War , the german Todt Organisation built there a portion of the " Great Atlantic Wall " , against possible landings by allied troops. The present ramp has been cut through the wall.

... Cars may reach Scluz ramp either through rue Naot-Hir or from the boatyard via rue Docteur Paugam.
