Pontusval Lighthouse is built on Beg-Pol Point Its building was decided
in 1867 following numerous wreckages on the neighbouring coast , and the
rocks of Pen Leac'h Ven which extend ½ a mile to seaward.
Construction ended in June 1869, and its first lighting took place on September
15th 1869 Builders used granite from the neighbouring rocks to build it.
The tower is squared ,with 2m40 sides . Inside, the tower is of circular
section ,with a diameter of 1m40 . 52 steps allow the lightkeeper to reach
the top.
It is not visitable.
